Mission Statement

Building relevant congregations that are evangelistically effective and fruitful in their life and ministry.

Purposes

  1. Strengthen congregations in their endeavour to reach all people with the gospel  and to make disciples of Jesus Christ.
  2. Provide pastoral and mission support to congregations and their leaders.
  3. Promote and encourage an evangelical influence in the Uniting Church.
  4. Resource congregations as they seek to maximise their leadership.
  5. Foster a culture of innovation in ministry to meet the needs of mission in changing society.

Ethos

  1. Interpreting the Bible and the Basis of Union of the Uniting Church in Australia from an evangelical perspective.
  2. Priority given to the mandate of making disciples of Jesus Christ.
  3. Recognition of the need for congregations to be strategic by nature and design in order to be effective in contemporary mission.
  4. A strong emphasis on leadership as a key factor in building congregations.
  5. Adherence to sexual ethics that hold to the standard of celibacy in singleness and faithfulness in marriage.
  6. An emphasis on dynamic relationships that will be served by any structure that is deemed necessary.
  7. Actively seek relationships with similarly focused churches and movements outside the Uniting Church for the mutual sharing of life, ideas and ministry opportunities.

The 3Dnet Mission Network will encourage the participant congregations in:

1.      Making disciples of Jesus Christ.

2.      Engaging in effective wholistic mission in their wider community.

3.      Developing innovative ministries to meet the demands of changing society.

Developing leaders who in turn raise up other leaders. This network grew out of group of leaders that met together to read and share books about leadership.
